Competitive Recreational Soccer Camps College Advisory
Club COVID-19 Protocol as of August 3, 2020

Hello Cook Inlet Soccer Club Friends & Families,

The health and safety of our players, families, staff and coaches are our highest priorities. In light of the latest municipal mandates, and in conjunction with our governing body, Alaska Youth Soccer Association (AYSA), CISC will revert to Phase II protocols beginning at 8 AM on 8/3/20. We will continue to monitor the situation and make decisions using the latest information available and recommendations from federal, state and municipal health organizations. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your coaches and managers, as they were trained on this protocol earlier this summer.

Justin Atteberry (Interim Exec. Dir.) will have "ZOOM" office hours on Monday, August 3rd, from 7:30-9 PM with no agenda. Please feel free to pop in and ask questions...big or small. In the meantime, CISC's operations will change in the following ways:

I. Picture day will be cancelled this year.

II. Competitive Program

  • All competitive league games have been cancelled until further notice by the UAYSL.
  • Teams are allowed to train in accordance with the Return-to-Play Protocol listed below.
  • Tryouts for competitive teams have been postponed. More information will be forthcoming.

III. Recreation Program

  • Recreation league games have been cancelled until further notice.
  • Practices are cancelled until further notice.
  • Refunds for the season will be processed throughout the month of August.
  • Tryouts for competitive teams have been postponed. More information will be forthcoming.

AYSA has created Return-to-Play Protocols that each club must adhere to. Below are CISC's protocols and response plan:

  • Reminder - these protocols are not intended to remove all risk. They are intended to be reasonable preventative measures. If you or your athlete do not feel comfortable participating that truly is okay. Coaches will not hold this against the athlete in any way. If you are concerned about this, please speak with your Coach or the Director of Coaching.
  • Coaches and Volunteers - If you feel uncomfortable performing your duties, please contact the Director of Coaching, the Director of Recreation, or the Interim Executive Director as is appropriate to help navigate reasonable accommodations. When these protocols change, they will be communicated in the following ways:
    • Emails to the Coaches and Managers
    • Emails to the entire Club
    • Posting on the CISC website
  • Adults, youth, and their families will not attend sanctioned program activities if they meet isolation criteria set forth by Anchorage Municipality Emergency Order 15. Those potentially contagious should refer specifically to Section 3.
  • CISC will abide by state and local mandates.
  • Coaches and Managers will notify CISC, who will then notify AYSA, if players develop COVID-19 and may have been infectious to others while at a club/league activity immediately. We will maintain confidentiality of the COVID-19 infected person.

  • Training sessions will occur outside.
  • Players should live in their training location/community for 14 days prior to beginning group training.
  • As much as is reasonably possible, coaches will ensure 6-foot social distancing.
  • Coaches will ask each athlete prior to the activity if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19. If they are, they should be sent home.
  • Before training - Players will put on gear, warm-up, etc. with 6-foot spacing.
  • During training - Coaches will design sessions that maintain 6-foot spacing.
  • After training - During cool down and removing of gear, maintain 6-foot spacing.
  • Parents, volunteers, and coaches will maintain 6-foot spacing while involved with any club activity, to include spectating. This includes walking to and leaving the field.

Coaches and/or managers will ensure that all equipment is wiped down, including cones, goals, corner flags, etc., once before, once at the mid-point, and once after training with disinfectant.

Coaches and/or managers will ensure there are two "sanitation stations" designated at each training. Each station will have hand sanitizer and facial tissues. The club will ensure that hand sanitizing stations will be at all porta potties at Anchorage Gardens.

Coaches, players, and volunteers will provide their own mask.

  • Coaches and managers have received training on basic state, local, and CDC regulations and recommendations.
  • CISC guidelines/protocols will be reviewed during personnel meetings and published in the following ways:
    • Posted on the CISC website
    • Emailed to the Club
  • CISC will follow established plans for all staff/volunteers who may be symptomatic or who may not attend sanctioned program activities, and ensure understanding of return-to-club plan following CDC guidelines.
