  • Tim Valesko Director of Coaching

    Tim is a graduate of Service High School (89′) and won two state titles as a Cougar. A 1988 Gatorade Player of the Year and All-American; he played collegiately at Concordia University Cavaliers in Portland, Oregon. 

     

    Coaching Licenses

     

    Tim has gained his United States Soccer Federation National C License, his NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Director of Coaches Diploma and NSCAA National Goalkeeper Diploma and is undertaking his NSCAA Advanced National Diploma.

     

    Coaching Achievements

     

    Tim has been Coaching for 18 years, being one of Alaska’s most successful coaches and has amassed 36 State titles in that time; as well as helping to place over 100 players to the collegiate ranks. 

     

    Tim has coached two winners of the Disney Showcase Tournament 2011 and 2013, and coached two winners of the Crossfire Tournament Seattle WA. His teams have won the Eagles Classic tournament in Southern California and also won the Mayors Cup-Las Vegas.

     

    His 97 Girls also won the prestigious 2014 Region IV President’s Cup.

     

    He has been coaching High School soccer in Anchorage on the Boys and Girl’s side for over

    18 years, including 16 State Championships; and is the current Dimond HS Girls Varity Coach – the current 2016 State Champions, with an undefeated season.

     

     

    Tim is well versed in the Cook Inlet Soccer Club Developmental Philosophy and its processes; working primarily with our Elite Academy Program, the wealth of experience he brings to the pitch, in technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects will enhance the players he works with in their ability to train and learn at the highest levels.

  • Matt Froehle Coach

    Matt is a graduate of Bartlett High School (‘90). He has won multiple state tournaments in Alaska as a youth player and represented Alaska at ODP. 

    In college he attended NCAA Division III - St. John University (MN) where he had a stellar career, serving as captain for two years and receiving awards for the Hardest Working, Most Improved, and the Otto Webber Award. 

    Matt is one of a very select group of Alaskans to go on and play in the professional ranks. He played in the USISL with the Yakima Reds (’95-’96) and Dayton Tigers (’97) where he was team captain for both teams. He moved on to play for the USL Division III Orlando Nighthawks (98’) where they went on to reach 3rd place in the USL National Tournament and advanced to the round of 16 in the US Open Cup.

    Coaching Achievements

    Matt has has coached in Florida (Cocoa Beach High School), Washington (WA East ODP U15 Girls) and was the Division II - Central Washington University Assistant Coach for both the women’s and men’s programs. 

    Most recently in Anchorage, Matt has won State Championships with his Cook Inlet teams (’00 Girls, ’01 Girls, ’04 Girls, ’02 Boys, & ’98 Boys) as well have out of state tournaments (Beaverton Cup, Patriots Cup, & Nike Oswego Cup (Gold Division)). 

    Matt coached the ’98 Boys to the 2014 President’s Cup Region IV and National Championships.

    Matt has coached the boys’ program at his alma mater, Bartlett High School, since 2013 and was voted Cook Inlet Conference Boys Coach of the Year in 2014 and 2015.  He led the Golden Bears to their first ever State Tournament qualification in 2015.

    Matt is well versed in the Cook Inlet Soccer Club Developmental Philosophy and its processes; and the wealth of experience he brings to the pitch, in technical, tactical, physical and psychological aspects will enhance the players he works with in their ability to train and learn at the highest levels.

     

    Matt directs and manages Cook Inlet’s physical and technical supplemental training programs, which he initiated in 2014.

     

     

    Matt is married to Lida and they have two beautiful children.  Their son Lorenzo was a four time all-conference player at Bartlett, a member of the vaunted Cook Inlet SC ’98 boys team, and currently plays NCAA DI soccer at Manhattan College, NY. Daughter Corina currently plays on the Cook Inlet 00 Girls and AYSA ODP State 00 Girls teams respectively.  She was a first team all-conference selection as a freshman at Bartlett in 2016.

  • Obed Vargas Coach

    Obed was born in California, but raised in a small town in Mexico where he started playing club soccer at the age of five. He played in Mexico with the Academy team Monarcas Morelia where he played until age fifteen. He played professional soccer in the Mexican 3rd Division 

    Obed’s love of soccer has led him off the field and onto the sidelines. He is currently a USSF D license coach and in his continued thirst to improve his coaching he attended the following coaching seminars:

     -March 2014-- Madrid, Spain Hosted by Youth Academy Real Madrid CF. 

    -March 2015 -- Amsterdam, Holland and Leverskusen, Germany  hosted by  AFC AJAX & Bayern Leverkusen. 

     

    Obed has been coaching competitive youth soccer since 2014 where he most recently he led the 04 boys to a State Cup Championship. He has coached competitively in Mexico and Spain also.

  • Alexis Rogers Coach
    Alexis was born and raised here in Anchorage, Alaska. She grew up playing for Cook Inlet throughout her youth career and played Varsity Soccer at Dimond HS. 

    Alexis attended and played  soccer at Lander University in South Carolina on a soccer scholarship for four years while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Finance/Economics. While attending college, she also helped coach at Lander Women’s Soccer ID Camps. Within these camps, Alexis coached on an individual and team basis.

  • Ken Applegate Coach

    Ken is a Pennsylvania native where he graduated from Garden Spot High School in (97’).  Ken is a two-time EYSA / ODP second team selection in 1996 and 1997.  He played collegiately at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia (00’-03’). 

     

    Ken traveled abroad to England and Scotland during the summer of ’94 for a short stint with an English academy program, playing in Edinburgh, Grangemouth, Southport and London.  

     

    Ken is the fortunate husband of wife Korynn and proud father of his five wonderful children, Keegynn, Kaleb, Kendall, Kooper and Kenzington.

    Ken has been Coaching for 6 years.  He has concentrated on the development of pre-competitive and first year competitive teams, focusing on the technical and tactical fundamentals of the game; building and preparing young athletes for the ensuing commitment to the sport of soccer.

     

    Ken was awarded the Girls Competitive Coach of the Year in 2016 by Alaska Youth Soccer.

     

    Ken has had the privilege to coach alongside several established coaches in the state, including work with CISC’s Elite Academy Program.

  • Woody Morgan Staff Coach

    Woody is originally from Ponca City, Oklahoma and graduated from Ponca City High School. He grew up playing competitive, ODP and high school level soccer. After graduation, he attended NWOSU in Alva, OK.

    Coaching Achievements

    Woody has 10 years of coaching experience in Oklahoma and Alaska. In Oklahoma, he coached club soccer at FC Bartlesville before moving to Alaska in 2014. 

    He is currently the Assistant Coach for 01 Girls and 07 Boys teams for Cook Inlet Soccer Club and is the Boys Head Coach at Grace Christian School.

    Woody is married to his wife Chesla and they have beautiful daughter, Maddy, that currently plays on the Cook Inlet 01 Girls and AYSA ODP State 01 Girls teams.  She was selected for Region IV ODP camp in 2017 and first team all-conference selection as a sophomore for Grace Christian School in 2017.

  • Rich Bailey Coach

    Rich is born and raised in Alaska, and is a USSF National E-licensed coach; he played competitive soccer for Cook Inlet SC, Northern Lights Soccer Club, and AK United FC as well as participating in Alaska’s ODP program. 

    Rich was a starter for Bartlett High School’s varsity soccer team. After graduation, Rich joined and served six decorated years in the United States Coast Guard before finishing his Engineering Degree at UAA. 

     

    Since the Fall of 2016, Rich has been a full time coach for Cook Inlet teams in our Developmental Academy.

  • Dylan Faber Goalkeeper Coach & Head Coach

    Dylan was born and raised in Anchorage Alaska and has more than 13 years of goalkeeping experience. He began his playing career at Cook Inlet Soccer Club and continued playing for local clubs up until high school. Dylan played a year of varsity soccer for West Anchorage High School, where he led the school to a Cook Inlet Conference League Championship, a Regional Final and the State Final. During that season, Dylan was named to the First Team All-Conference. 

    Following a year at West Anchorage High School, Dylan attended an international residential soccer academy at Darlington School in Rome, Georgia. While there, Dylan traveled throughout the states to many of the country’s elite tournaments, played in multiple tournaments overseas, visited over 40 college campuses, and guest played for Atlanta Fire’s Developmental Academy team. 

    Upon graduating high school, Dylan played NCAA Div. I Soccer for Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. While there, Dylan helped the team to a conference championship and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Dylan was also named Northeastern University’s Student Athlete of the Year for 2015. During the summers, Dylan played semi-professionally in the PDL/USL league for the North Sound Sea Wolves based out of Edmonds, Washington and in the NPSL league for Georgia Revolution F.C.  

    In addition to over 13 years of goal keeping experience, Dylan has been coaching goal keepers for more than 5 years and was the Goalkeeping Camp Director for No. 1 Soccer Camp’s Georgia location. In addition to coaching at camps, Dylan has also coached goalkeeping for F.C. Bolts, the largest club in New England, and has coached private sessions for young goal keepers in the past. 

     

    Dylan began coaching goal keepers for Cook Inlet Soccer Club in 2015.
