Cook Inlet S.C. Players and Staff in the Community

2017 Kid's Day

Cook Inlet S.C. players and staff gathered to participate in the 2017 Kids Day event at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage. Participants at Kids Day had an opportunity to meet and kick around with the CISC Staff Coaches and competitive players. KidsDay is exactly that...a day to celebrate our youth and families; a day to provide kids of all ages a day of laughter and fun! More than 80 youth-serving exhibitors gather at the Dena'ina Center to provide program information & fun activities for all to enjoy!

2017 Alaska Heart Run

Cook Inlet S.C. set a goal of entering 20 participants on our "team" for the 2017 Alaska Heart Run. We exceeded our goal, entering 56 total team members to represent Cook Inlet S.C. in the 2017 Heart Run. The Heart Run is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association..

The American Heart Assocation Mission: By 2020, to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent.

In 1999 the American Heart Association set a bold 10-year goal: To reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010. We achieved the reduction in deaths ahead of schedule and made substantial progress against three of the six risk factors. Because of this success, the Board of Directors approved a 2020 Impact Goal. This new goal looks beyond helping people reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke by focusing on helping them build stronger health and a better quality of life.

CISC Partners with Rilke Schule
Posted Apr 25, 2017

Pete Showler, Cook Inlet Soccer Club’s Technical Director stated:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our staff to partner with a forward thinking educational institution; helping develop the students in many of the important life skills that soccer brings to the holistic development of the individuals; whilst also promoting a healthy lifestyle and hopefully a new love for the beautiful game”

“We are really appreciative that Amber and her staff invited us into Rilke Schule and see the benefits of soccer in their students development too; hopefully this will be the beginning of a very fruitful partnership moving forward.”

Amber Maddy, the Physical Education Specialist at Rilke Schule German School of Arts and Sciences enthused:

"It was great to have Cook Inlet Soccer Club professional coaches share their love of soccer skill development and fitness with our students. Building these core skills now in our physical education programs, help children grow into adults that love to stay active and healthy. Having the opportunity to have CISC share their knowledge at Rilke Schule was incredible!"

"Es war toll, die Profis von CISC bei uns gehabt zu haben und dass Sie ihre Liebe zu Fussball und Fitness mit unseren Schuelern geteilt haben. Das Einbinden dieser Kernfaehigkeiten in unseren Schulsport, hilft unseren Schuelern ungemein sich zu aktiven und gesunden Erwachsenen zu entwickeln. Es war eine unglaubliche Erfahrung, dass CISC ihr Wissen mit der Rilke Schule geteilt hat!"

A huge thank you to all involved!
